Girlguiding Annual Subscription
Each year, every member of Girlguiding pays a subscription fee. This money goes towards running guiding nationally and at local levels. The overall amount a member pays is made up of different amounts. Girlguiding HQ sets an amount as does region and county. Some divisions and districts also set amounts. This makes up the full annual subscription.
The breakdown for 2024 is:
- Girlguiding – £31
- North West Region – £9
- Lancashire West County – £6 (this includes £1 for Guys Farm)
Budgeting
Making a yearly budget will help you plan effectively and provide assurance that you can do everything you want in your unit. Make sure you think about all your expenses including:
- Annual subscriptions
- Running costs (badges, activities)
- Meeting expenses (rent, insurance, extra equipment)
- General expense (postage, leader uniform, leader training, travel expenses)
Accounts
The Girlguiding accounts package is very useful for completing unit accounts.
Accounts should be reviewed by someone independent each year and the document below completed and submitted to your District Commissioner.
Gift Aid
It is always worthwhile claiming Gift Aid as you can claim repayment of 25pence on every £1 sub received.
Grants
We want all of our members to be able to access guiding and the opportunities it has to offer. We are aware that funding can be a barrier to this. Please see the Region website for grants that are available.
